Why don’t get PERISH not PUBLISH?

The universities and research institutions are targeting to be placed among the world top ranked universities. To achieve the said goal, pressure transfers to academicians and research students to get published, cited and placed somewhere in the journals of repute. Academicians and researchers face problems in time management of research activities (Teaching vs.Research), quantity vs. quality of research, and nescience of metrics for ranking. This workshop will deal with the art of writing, publishing in reputed journals, the difference between STEM vs. HASS research practices of publishing, and use of evaluative measures at national/international level.

The participants will learn how to manage the unhealthy aspects of publishing. The workshop will also introduce the newly established metrics/indices besides publications and citations that have become the part at micro, meso and macro levels. The resource persons will also guide the participants to know where, why and how to get publish in well-reputed journals and to become an effective part of the scientific scholarly community.

Potential Participants:

MS/PhD students, Post-Doctoral Fellows and early career faculty members.
