Government College of Education for Science, Township Lahore was established in 1979 on the recommendation of UNESCO & British High Powered Education Mission headed by Sir Lord James to prepare science teachers as there was acute shortage of science teachers in the province. It has been a co-educational institution since its inception.
The Government College of Education for Science, Township Lahore has become a campus of the University of Education, Lahore. The Campus spreads over 203 acres with purpose built undergraduate and graduate studies blocks, with all modern facilities including library, science laboratories and hi-tech instructional and computer laboratories. The Campus houses two women hostels and one men hostel. An other academic building is under construction in this campus, with a cost of Rs. 50 million.
