The 75th Independence Day celebrations at UE

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with National fervor & zeal at all Campuses of University of Education. The central flag hoisting ceremony was held at the main Campus of University of Education, Township, Lahore. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) hoisted the National Flag while Writer/Poet/Actor Mr. Iftikhar Usmani was the chief guest of the ceremony. All the directors/Principals, faculty members, staff and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad were present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that it is a great honor for us that today we are celebrating the 75th Independence Day of our country, for which we are grateful to these millions of martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for this holy land. Today, we have to renew our commitment, which we made 75 years ago. The aims and objectives for which Pakistan was achieved, unfortunately could not be fulfilled even today. Although today we are a nuclear power, but we could not make our economy and society powerful, and education is one of the main reasons behind this, therefore, we need to pay special attention to the education sector so that we can be able to compete with other nations in science & technology, industry, craft and agriculture. He said that keeping in view the global scenario, it will not be out of place to say that the unity that we need today, may not have been there before.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Mr. Iftikhar Usmani said that since its inception, Pakistan has been in the eyes of the enemies because it is the country, which has given strength to the Muslims of the whole world. . So we need to make this country stronger in all sectors including defense, economy and education. On this occasion, apart from showing a special documentary to the participants, the students of UE tied the knot by singing national songs in their mesmerizing voices. At the end of the ceremony, Vice Chancellor, Chief Guest and others planted plants and special prayers were offered for the development and prosperity of the country.
