An important meeting of the consortium of the Vice-Chancellors of various universities of Punjab constitute by Governor Punjab Engineer Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman was held at the main campus of the University of Education, Lahore, which was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I). The meeting held on the agenda of “Governance and Finance: Challenges & Sharing Good Practices”, former Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Professor Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin, Vice Chancellor Information Technology University, Lahore Prof. Dr. Sarfaraz Khurshid, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan Prof. Dr. Mansoor Akbar, Head Department of Immunology and Virology University of Health Sciences, Lahore Prof Dr. Shah Jahan, Vice Chancellor Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir, Vice Chancellor Government College University, Faisalabad Prof. Dr. Shahid Kamal and others participated.
Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.) said that without improving administrative and financial matters, no department or institution, including education, can be stable or develop. Today, improvement of financial and administrative matters is the most important need of the time in institutions. Providing the best educational environment in educational institutions is the first responsibility of us because it is the foundation on which the structure of the entire society stands. He said educated youth with good character are truly the future and asset of Pakistan, for which educational institutions, especially higher education institutions, will have to play their dynamic role. The government is committed to promote modern technology in educational institutions, eradicating all evils including drugs and making universities world class, for which the support of educated sections of the society is required. And this consortium is formed to achieve these objectives. In the meeting, the participants also presented several suggestions to improve the financial and administrative matters in the institutions, which will be sent to the government after finalization.
