On the occasion of the 10th
anniversary of the China Belt and Road Initiative, an exhibition
titled "Star Moon Road; China-Pakistan Contemporary Arts Exchange " organized
by the University of Education, Lahore in collaboration with the Lahore Museum
concluded on May 5, 2023. The closing ceremony of the exhibition was held in
the main Campus Township of the University, which was presided over by Vice
Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I., H.I.) while former Federal
Secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar was the chief guest of the ceremony. 16 famous
artists from China and 2 from Pakistan participated in the exhibition. Renowned
artists like Jamal Shah and Faryal Gohar from Pakistan also graced the
exhibition. During the two days, the works of artists were exhibited in the
Lahore Museum along with the UE, which was much appreciated by the public and a
large number of art lovers who came to see the works. Speaking at the closing
ceremony of the exhibition, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.,
H.I.) said that no one doubts the friendship between Pakistan and China and the
strong relations between these countries. The people of these countries have a
special interest in understanding each other's culture, civilization, arts and
language in order to promote cooperation. There are currently around 12 Chinese students studying in
University of Education, Lahore, which is an honor for us. The Vice-Chancellor
hailed the exhibition of Chinese and Pakistani artists as the best activity and
congratulated all the organizers for its successful organization. The Chief
Guest, former Federal Secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, in his opening address,
commended the University of Education, Lahore and its Vice Chancellor for the
successful conduct of the exhibition. The former federal secretary said that
Pakistan-China exchange programs in various fields including education and
training, arts, culture are not only strengthening the relations of these
countries, but it will open new ways of development and prosperity. Nowadays,
when the whole world is suffering from economic and social issues, it is very
welcome for two friendly countries to stand together. Later, the chief guest
visited the art pieces along with the Vice Chancellor and the Chinese guests. A
large number of well-known political and social figures of the country, vice
chancellors of various universities, intellectuals, experts related to the
department of culture and arts, university directors/principals and students
were also present in the closing ceremony.
