The 77th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great enthusiasm across all Campuses/Divisions of the University of Education. The main flag-hoisting ceremony took place at the Township Campus, attended by heads of all Divisions, Principals of local Campuses, teachers, staff, and a large number of students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Alam Saeed, performed the flag hoisting, followed by the playing of the national anthem. In a beautiful display of friendship, numerous students from China also participated in the ceremony.
On this joyous occasion, the Vice-Chancellor initiated a special tree-planting campaign by planting a tree on the university grounds. A celebratory cake was cut, and students added to the lively atmosphere with their patriotic songs.
During his address, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the significance of August 14, 1947, as a miraculous moment in world history, marking the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized that an independent country is the greatest blessing, especially when considering the struggles of Muslims in regions like Kashmir, Palestine, and India. The creation of Pakistan was a cause for celebration not only among the Muslims of the sub-continent but also among Muslims worldwide.
He urged everyone to value this blessing and work tirelessly for the development of the country, striving to fulfill the dreams of our leaders, Hazrat Quaid-e-Azam and Hazrat Allama Iqbal. Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor stressed that now is the time to build the nation, expressing confidence that the talent within our young generation will significantly contribute to the nation’s progress. He called on everyone to pledge today to lead Pakistan to new heights, ensuring the supremacy of merit and the rule of law.
