On Monday, 26 November 2018, the students of BS English, under the supervision of Ms. Ayesha Akram, Lecturer department of English, University of Education Township Campus Lahore, embarked upon another educational trip to the Lincoln Corner (ITU) to discuss and raise awareness regarding some of the vices rampant in the society. This time they discussed the crime of "honor killings" and how the society is too feeble to deal with them effectively. The students watched an engaging, Oscar winning documentary called "Girl in the River" by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. It shed light upon the horrific mentality which perpetuates convenience to commit a murder in the name of "honor". Students were reminded how demanding "forceful forgiveness" is yet another form of oppression; and most importantly, there is no "honor" in killings.
