- One day symposium titled "Living Beyond Cancer: Tumor and Cell Death" was organized under the Umbrella of "Health & Environment Corner" by Department of Zoology, University of Education, Lahore. Pro-Vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad; Director Division of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Alam Saeed and Chairperson department of Zoology, Prof. Dr. Shagufta Andleeb graced the event with their presence.
- In this respect, Dr. Amjad Zafar, Consultant Oncologist, Mayo Hospital and Hameed Latif Hospital, Lahore shared his clinical experience that how the environment, Life Style and Food choices Contribute to increased risk of Malignancies.
- Dr. Syed Qasim Raza, Institute of Biochemistry and biotechnology, UVAS, Lahore discussed a novel cell death process of Entosis and cellular cannibalism which acts as tumor suppressor mechanism.
All faculty members and students of Zoology department participated in this informative session.
