Introduction:

Dr. Madiha Rashid is an Assistant Professor of Botany at the Division of Science and Technology, University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan. She holds a PhD in Botany from Lahore College for Women University, Lahore, and has been engaged in university teaching since 2013 and research since 2010. She also served as a Visiting Researcher at the Genetics and Microbiology Laboratory, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Her research interests encompass plant taxonomy and systematics, phytochemistry, plant genetic diversity, cytology, functional marker analysis, allelopathy, plant–microbe interactions, and plant responses to environmental stresses. Her research integrates morphological, anatomical, biochemical, and molecular approaches to investigate plant diversity, characterize crop germplasm, assess nutritional and functional traits, and explore sustainable strategies for crop improvement. She is particularly interested in nutraceutical quality, bioactive plant compounds, and the application of plant science to agricultural sustainability.

Dr. Rashid is an HEC-approved PhD supervisor and has been involved in supervising BS, MS, and PhD research students since 2016. Alongside her research and teaching activities, she contributes to academic coordination, curriculum development, and the advancement of higher education in Botany. Her academic interests center on integrating fundamental plant sciences with interdisciplinary research to address emerging challenges in plant diversity, crop productivity, and sustainable agriculture.
