Dr. Syed Mohsan Raza Shah joined the University of Education DG Khan Campus as an Assistant Professor of Botany (TTS) in July 2022. He holds an MSc, M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. He has a specialized focus on plant adaptation to abiotic stresses, exploring anatomical and physiological responses in plants under challenging environmental conditions. His recent research includes studies on the adaptation mechanisms of plants under abiotic stress and the genetic resources of sorghum and pearl millet. During his tenure at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, he made significant contributions to updating the institution's herbarium and conducted impactful research on the ecology of saline wetlands. He has also conducted extensive botanical exploration across diverse regions, including Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. With over 25 research papers published in International Journals, he is a contributor to the field, regularly serving as a reviewer for five international Journals. He has supervised 9 graduate students and is currently guiding 7 MS and graduate students in their research pursuits. He teaches a range of courses in the BS and MS Botany programs, where he combines his expertise with a passion for advancing Plant Anatomy, Plant Ecology and Plant Physiology.
