Introduction:

Dr. Syed Mohsan Raza Shah joined the University of Education, Dera Ghazi Khan Campus, as an Assistant Professor of Botany in July 2022. He earned his MSc, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Botany from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, where he developed strong expertise in plant adaptation to abiotic stresses, with particular emphasis on anatomical and physiological responses under adverse environmental conditions. His research primarily focuses on plant adaptive mechanisms to abiotic stress and the exploration and utilization of genetic resources of sorghum and pearl millet. During his academic tenure at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, he conducted impactful research on the ecology of saline wetlands. He has also carried out extensive botanical explorations across diverse ecological regions of Pakistan, including Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dr. Shah has published more than 32 research articles in reputable international journals and actively contributes to the academic community as an editor and reviewer for several international journals. He has successfully supervised nine graduate-level research projects and six MS Botany theses and is currently supervising multiple MS and co-supervising Ph.D. scholars. In addition to his research commitments, he teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Botany, where he integrates his research experience with a strong commitment to advancing education in Plant Anatomy, Plant Ecology, and Plant Physiology.
