Dr. Danish Riaz

Introduction:

Dr. Danish Riaz has joined the Department of Zoology, Division of Science and Technology, University of Education Lahore (Faisalabad Campus), as Assistant Professor (Zoology) and HEC-approved supervisor. He received his PhD in Zoology from G.C. University Faisalabad, Pakistan. He won an IPFP fellowship from Higher Education, Pakistan, and an associate fellowship in the UK.

Research goal: 

Being a Zoologist, to expand my professional horizon, potentials and efforts to promote eco-friendly aquaculture and the fish nutrition industry as (SDG 14).

Research output and accomplishments: 

He published a number of research articles in the International and National impact factor and HEC-recognised peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Danish Riaz qualified and secured a good position in the National Faculty Development Program 2020 under the supervision of Mentor Dr. Steven Burian, Professor of Environmental Engineering and Director of the Water Center at the University of Utah, in the United States (US) through the platform of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.  Six lactic acid bacterial strain sequences were submitted to the Genebank of the NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information, USA) as the first scientist. He presented and submitted research abstracts published in booklets of International and National conferences/workshops.

Professional Experiences: 

He has over five years of professional experience in teaching, research, and academic professional experience at the University of Education Lahore, Faisalabad Campus. He also served in administration across public and private sector institutions, including service as Assistant Director of Fisheries in the Punjab Fisheries Department. He won an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and wsas a recipient of the HEC IPFP Fellowship at UE Lahore Faisalabad Campus along with competitive research project funding.
