Dr. Muhammad Sohail is working as an Associate
Professor of Chemistry at University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan.
He received his Ph.D. in 2013 from the School of Chemical Engineering and
Environment (Beijing, China). After postdoctoral studies at the Dalian Institute of
Chemical Physics (Dalian, China), he joined Okinawa Institute of Science
Technology (Okinawa, Japan) as a researcher and worked for 6 years. So far, he
has published many papers in well-reputed chemistry journals e.g. ACIE,
ChemComm, Chemistry-A European Journal, Communications Chemistry, etc., and filed
several patents. He has vast research experience in the field of Organic Synthesis, Asymmetric Synthesis, Asymmetric Catalysis, Chiral Anion
Catalysis, Phase Transfer Catalysis, Chiral Resolution, Total Synthesis of organic molecules, Multi-Component
Reactions, Green Chemistry, Bio-Catalysis, Synthesis of Biosynthetic
Intermediate, Chemical Conversion of Biomass, Bio-based Polymer Materials, Molecular Microbiology, and Chemical Bioengineering. He is currently focusing on catalytic asymmetric
reaction methods and new catalytic asymmetric reaction systems that construct
functionalized, complex molecules (such as spiro and polycyclic bioactive molecules)
under mild conditions.
