Dr. Zaka Ullah

Introduction:

Zaka Ullah was born on October 24, 1986 in tehsil Taunsa Sharif of district Dera Ghazi Khan. He completed his early education from his native city, and earned his BSc from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan. He received his MSc in Applied Physics and MPhil in Solid State Physics respectively from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, and University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. After that, he won a prestigious CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Italy, for PhD study in China. He earned his PhD from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2017, and came back to Pakistan. He joined Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, as an Assistant Professor of Physics, and worked there for 1 year and 10 months on contractual basis. Later on, he moved to Shenzhen University, China, and remained engaged there for 1 year and 7 months on a Postdoctoral Position.

Zaka Ullah is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Education, Lahore (Multan Campus), Pakistan, since November 29, 2021. Till now (August 16, 2023):

  • He has published 65 Research Articles in international research journals including Energy Storage Materials (IF: 20.4), Nano Energy (IF: 17.6), Small (IF: 15.153: Published 2 times), Chemical Engineering Journal (IF: 15.1Published 2 times), Progress in Solid State Chemistry (IF: 12.0) and Journal of Materials Chemistry A (IF: 11.9Published 3 times), and a Book Chapter Hybrid composites for optoelectronics: introduction, synthesis, and applications in Book entitled Hybrid Nanomaterials for Sustainable Applications (Chapter # 11) Published by Elsevier. He has published in journals with an Accumulative Impact Factor of 361.263.

  • He Received a Top Peer Reviewer 2019 Award from Publons/Web of Science.
  • He is a HEC Approved PhD Supervisor.
  • He has supervised 14 MPhil/MS and 9 BS Research Students
  • He has been a Complimentary Member (Membership Number: 32158683) of American Chemical Society (ACS) for the year 2019-20. He has also been awarded with the Complimentary Membership once again for the year 2022-23.
  • He has won a Research Grant (under Startup Research Grant Program) of value ~0.5 million PKR from Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, during his stay at the Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He has successfully completed the Research Project.
  • He is a Life Member of Pakistan Institute of Physics (PIP), Pakistan, and the National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Pakistan. He is also a Member of Materials Science Society of Pakistan (MSSP).
