Brief Profile:
Dr. Afaf, a gold medalist, is a human development scientist with 20 years of experience. She is the only female Pakistani to complete a Post-Doctorate in Inclusion and Special Needs at the Department of Psychology & Human Development, University College London, UK, awarded by the Punjab Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
At present, she is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Special Education, University of Education, Lahore. With significant contributions to the field, she collaborated on multiple projects aimed at improving lives of marginalized groups. She is also one of Pakistan's top proponents of the inclusion & diversity movement especially for disabilities. As a university faculty she is engaged in designing Scheme of Studies, teaching and assessment of various programs such as BS. Mphil. PhD and Post Graduate diplomas. She is also supervision research scholars at M.Phil and PhD level.
She is a unique individual in Pakistan who began her journey as a special education teacher and rose to the top of her profession as HET (Higher Education Teacher). Propelling her passion, she worked as administrator in the districts of Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Kasur and revitalized many schools. Her transformational leadership in the field laid foundations for her elevated impact at university level, where she designed various courses and scheme of studies for teacher education programs with a focus on revamping teacher education and preparation of future teachers for the inclusion of diverse learners. Recognized for her exceptional contributions, she received numerous accolades and holds esteemed potions such as Member UN Board of Advisory on Disability Inclusion, Chairperson Disability Inclusion Council, Pakistan Health Parliament; Associate of Center for Inclusive Education at University College London.; Board of Directors, Comparative Education Society of Asia CESA.
Dr. Manzoor is also practicing as Consultant Special Needs, Autsim and Disabilities Rehabilitation. Through this platform she is trying to put her research into practice and to serve community by delivering various assessment, intervention and rehabilitation protocols.
She is a well-known and experienced consultant engaged in reserach, education, advocacy, policy making and interventional approaches for Austism Spectrum Disorder. She travelled more than 20 countries and participated in international research and practice conferences. In recognition for her exceptional contributions, she received numerous accolades and holds esteemed potions such as Chairperson Disability Inclusion Council, Pakistan Health Parliament; Associate of Center for Inclusive Education at University College\ London.
