Abbas Qamar is a lecturer at UE Business School, Department of Division of Management and Sciences, at the University of Education,
Lahore, Pakistan. He is an academic and researcher with expertise in finance,
sustainable finance, financial technology (FinTech), corporate finance, corporate
governance, and innovation management. His work is driven by a commitment to
excellence in teaching, impactful research, and the development of future
business professionals.
Mr. Qamar earned his Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Finance from PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, where his
research examined the financial performance of Pakistani banks before and after
mergers and acquisitions. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from
Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. Prior to joining the University of
Education in 2019, he served as a lecturer at Government College University,
Faisalabad.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, Mr.
Qamar has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including
Financial Management, Business Accounting, Investment and Portfolio Management,
Financial Risk Management, Business Statistics, and Macroeconomics. His
teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and the
practical application of theoretical concepts to contemporary business
challenges.
His research interests include sustainable finance, FinTech, corporate finance, corporate governance, and innovation management. He
has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in
internationally recognized journals, with research focusing on mergers and
acquisitions, investor behavior, entrepreneurship, Islamic financial markets,
green consumer behavior, and digital commerce. His work has been presented at
national and international conferences, reflecting his commitment to scholarly
collaboration and knowledge dissemination.
Mr. Qamar possesses strong quantitative research skills
and is proficient in SPSS, STATA, EViews, AMOS, and other analytical tools. He
actively integrates digital technologies and artificial intelligence into both
research and teaching to enhance academic productivity and student learning. He
is also an active participant in CannierHub, an international
platform dedicated to finance, business, and economics, where he engages with
the global community and contributes to discussions on emerging developments in
these fields.
His academic achievements include the Open Doors Russian PhD/Master
Scholarship (2023–2024), the Prime Minister's Laptop Award, and district-level
academic recognition. Through excellence in teaching, research, and
professional engagement, Mr. Qamar remains committed to advancing sustainable
business practices and producing research that contributes to academia,
industry, and society.
