Dr Umar Farooq, after quitting the post of Senior Subject Specialist, joined University of Education as Lecturer in 2009. He is a distinguished academic and seasoned educator, currently serving as Assistant Professor of Education (BS-19) at the University of Education, Attock Campus. With over 15 years of higher education teaching experience, he has significantly contributed to the fields of educational psychology, assessment, child development, and human resource management. Dr Umar completed his MPhil and PhD degrees in the area of moral psychology from PMAS UAAR and NUN respectively.
In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. Farooq plays key
leadership and administrative roles at the university, including Coordinator of
the Department of STEM Education, Quality Enhancement Cell, and Guidance &
Counseling. He is also the Focal Person for Coursera and Protection Against
Sexual Harassment.
Dr. Farooq has a prolific research record, with numerous
publications in national and international journals, primarily focusing on
moral reasoning, educational systems, emotional intelligence, and teacher
development. He has supervised over three dozen M.Phil theses, reflecting his
deep commitment to research and mentorship. His active involvement in academic
conferences, seminars, and in-service teacher training programs further
highlights his dedication to the advancement of education in Pakistan.
