Mega Event regarding the 20th Anniversary of the University of Education, Lahore held at Main Campus Township on October 21, 2022, Former Governor Khalid Maqbool & others graced the Event

In connection with the 20th anniversary of the University of Education, Lahore, grand celebrations were organized in the main campus township on October 21, 2022. It was the first mega event of its kind in the history of University, which brought together the alumni of the University of Education and also held the general body election and later the oath taking ceremony of the elected body. On this occasion, a special book of University "20 Years of Excellence; A Legacy of 142 years of Teacher Education” was also launched. Former Governor of the Punjab and First Chancellor of University of Education Lt. Gen. (retd) Khalid Maqbool was the chief guest and former Minister of Education Mian Imran Masood were the guests of honor while the Vice Chancellor of University of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I) presided over the mega event.


Addressing the ceremony, Former Governor Lt. General (retd) Khalid Maqbool said about the University of Education, Lahore that he is very happy to see this plant to become a tree today. Undoubtedly, University of Education, Lahore has excelled in achieving its primary objective of teacher education. Today, the graduates of this university are rendering excellent services to the country in various fields of life, which is very gratifying to see. While speaking on the occasion, Former Minister of Education, Mian Imran Masood said that University of Education, Lahore has done outstanding work in the field of education and research in a very short period of 20 years, which is highly commendable. He said that we are proud of this university, which introduced modern trends of teaching and training of teachers. Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that the University of Education has 9 Campuses, 4 divisions and 65 affiliated colleges across the Punjab to enlighten thousands of students with the light of knowledge. Although the University was established in 2002 but some of its campuses have a long history in teacher education, such as Lower Mall Campus in 1880 and Bank Road Campus in 1937. The basic objective of the University of Education, i.e. the best education and training of teachers, has always been prioritized, however, keeping in mind the needs of the country, the establishment of other programs including science, business and arts has also been made possible


A large number of people including Vice Chancellor UVAS Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad,  Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Prof. Dr. Ikram ul Haq, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Director Office of the Alumni Relations Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Tatla, all Directors/Principals were also present on this occasion.
