Master of Philosophy English (Linguistics)

Objectives

• provide students understanding of the concepts of Linguistics;
• engage the students to learn methodological skills in conducting various types of research;
• get the students aware of the modern trends in language and Linguistics;
• enable the students interpret and analyze a range of reading texts;
• provide the students conducive environment to conduct research in an area of interest in language/linguistics; and
• Generate maximum opportunities to students to acquire knowledge about intercultural communication.

Entry Requirements

• Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 in the semester system or 2^nd division in the annual system in MA/BS/English or Equivalent degree is required to be eligible for admission in M.Phil. However, preference will be given to candidates who studied linguistics as specialized courses.
• Applicants are also required to pass UE Entry Test.
