My Vision for a New Dawn in Educational Leadership

Building upon my professional exposures and personal experiences, I will implement a T3 model of technology integration by starting from the translational level and planning for transformative change and further taking the leap of faith to the transcendental level. I strongly believe that social entrepreneurship and design thinking for Education are the future of higher education. Thus creating a conducive environment for all the three levels of technology integration would be one of my main concerns.

Creating a culture of professional learning communities and action research to resolve the complex educational problems by bringing all the stakeholders on the same page is what I foresee to achieve as a Dean of this institution.

My vision does not get completed without planning for digital transformation of higher education. I envision a paperless environment and digitized organizational processes at the administrative level followed by digital transformation of teaching, learning and assessment processes at departmental level. This could only be possible by building the capacity of administrative staff, teachers and students for digital transformation.

Accessibility and inclusion would be another theme I want to add in my future planning for institution.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I would be learning from the success stories of our close neighbors like China. The way China’s higher education drive digital transformation is worth learnable and our institution’s friendly collaborations with Chinese counterparts would result in accelerating the process of change at our end.

I am quite optimistic in making positive academic change happen if given the opportunity to plan strategically for the future institutional goals at the institutional level and SDG4 at international level. “Thinking Global and Acting Local” and “Sticking to continuous improvement” would be my lessons learnt from Malaysian Higher Educational reforms. I will be committed to not only create opportunities but to help my students sustain the holistic success in their lives by learning to keep balance between physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of their personalities.
